Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad International Airport Terminal
The construction of the airport began on 2005, replacing Begumpet Airport which its facilities weren’t able to accommodate the increasing number of passengers.
The name of the International terminal within the building was named after Rajiv Gandhi, former prime minister of India. After several protests against this decision, on 2014 the Ministry of Civil Aviation named the domestic terminal N. T. Rama Rao as a result of the protests of Rajya Sabha members.
It is one of the biggest hubs in India in terms of business and passengers, handling over 12 million passengers per year.
The airport has a special terminal for Hajj pilgrims during the Hajj season.
Is one of India’s Greenfield airports, being granted with several international recognition certificates and prices as the Five Star Certification for Health and Safety Management by the British Safety Council and the Golden Peacock Award for Environment Management on 2015.

The western side hosts international flights while the eastern hosts domestic flights.
The main terminal consists of 8 levels. Arrivals and Departures are in a single level including the following services: Food and drink, stores, smoking lounge, access to gates 23 to 30B, two levels down, access to 25A and 25H gates.
Facilities: 46 immigration counters, baggage handling system is a 4-level in-line baggage screening system x-ray, 96 check-in desks, 19 kiosks for self-check-in, 9 gates divided by seven on the south side and two on the north side.
Other services: Public lounge facilities, VIP lounges, post office, Transfer facility desk, Business lounge.
